Circuit
Safir’s Month, Firmly Established on the Calendar
List the names of the great Swedish players of the past 20 years and
it is more than likely you will find one common factor; they have all played
in the Safir tournament in the city of Örebro; the tournament’s tradition is
legendary.
In 2011, the event to be staged from Wednesday 23rd to Sunday 27th
February, will include the now well established Swedish Junior Open, an ITTF
Junior Circuit Premium tournament.
Hopes Events
Furthermore, just to make sure that the full gambit of junior play is
covered, the established formula of hosting a Hopes tournament will
continue.
Undoubtedly, the programme is one of the most comprehensive in 2011,
not only comprehensive but such is the reputation of the event that many
coaches pencil in the month of February on the calendar before the actual
dates are confirmed!
February is the month of Safir, the month of the Swedish Junior, Cadet
and Hopes tournament.
ITTF Global Junior Circuit, Wednesday 23rd – Sunday 27th February
The Swedish Junior & Cadet Open will feature singles and doubles in
the junior category, as well as singles in the cadet and hopes categories,
in addition to the wide spectrum of Safir week events.
Preliminary Schedule
- Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th February: Junior Singles and
Doubles
- Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th February: Cadet and Hopes Singles

Prize Fund
The Swedish Table Tennis Association together with the local
organizers offers a total of US$8,000 in prize money; a 15% tax deduction as
per national laws, applies.
Maximum Number of Entries
A maximum of 220 entries are accepted for this tournament.
